What Happens on your first visit?
During your first visit, we'll gather your medical history followed by a postural assessment to evaluate muscle tension. This assessment involves visual observation and palpation of the affected muscles and joints. A variety of techniques may be employed, including:
Tui'na: Similar to acupuncture, this technique helps alleviate muscle spasms and pain by targeting trigger points within the muscles.
Effleurage: This involves lightly gliding the hands over the surface of the skin with varying pressure and speed
Petrissage: A kneading technique that applies pressure and squeezing to the muscles.
Frictions: Entails using fingers to apply forceful back-and-forth movements across ligaments, tendons, and muscles, helping to break down scar tissue and enhance circulation.
Myofascial Release: Utilizing fingers to friction and roll the skin, this method aims to release adhered fascia and muscles.
Trigger Point Therapy: This technique apply's deep pressure to sensitive points to alleviate the accumulation of nodules and tight muscle fibres.
Lymphatic Drainage: A gentle technique that stimulates the lymphatic system, aiding in the reduction of localized swelling and improving waste removal and immune function, particularly after surgery.
